Newtown Granite Garden and feature walling

Location: Newtown, Geelong
Stone: Hotham Granite from Yarrabee Stone
Landscape Design: Justine Carlile Landscape Design
Landscape Installation: Gum Landscapes
Scope: ~75m² of wall cladding

Completed in early 2024, this project featured approximately 75m² of Hotham Granite wall cladding, supplied by Yarrabee Stone. The stone was laid in a random, semi-coursed pattern with dry joints (no visible mortar), creating a clean, contemporary look across several key areas: a low-lying garden retaining wall capped in limestone and fitted with recessed lighting, an alfresco feature wall, and a front fence incorporating automatic gates.

Laid with a meticulous 1–3mm joint tolerance, the result is a cohesive and refined finish that highlights both the intricacy of the stone and the craftsmanship of our team.

Located in Newtown, Geelong, the home was nearing completion when we arrived on site. This required a high level of care and precision to protect finished elements, including limestone paving and rendered walls. Over the course of five weeks, we worked in close collaboration with our friends at Gum Landscapes to help bring this beautifully considered outdoor space — designed by Justine Carlile — to life.
